My name is Shelby, I'm 17 years old, and I've played flute for 7 & 1/2 years :)
Musical History: I've always loved music and flutes and harps always "spoke" to me. After I'd played flute for about 2 years, my dad started dragging me to piano lessons. It wasn't my idea to learn piano, and when my teacher moved after I'd been taking lessons for around 2 years, I never continued to practice. I think my piano has about 2 inches of dust on it, and it's very out of tune...
Currently, I play my flute in the community band and take private lessons.
The Dream Begins: So, in May of 2007, I started baking bread (using our super-special secret family recipe) and selling it to friends and neighbors. At first, the idea of learning to play harp was just something that I daydreamed about. But at the beginning of 2010, all of a sudden it hit me that I would be turning 17 and that I had been saving for almost 4 years and still did not have very much money in my piggy-bank! So I started baking lots of bread! I really want to get a solid foundation in proper technique before I head off to college and become busy with "grown-up" things.
Dream Realized: I got my harp on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:00 from the Harp Connection in Salem, Massachusetts.
